Two Guys’ Local Bites began as a humble food truck adventure in the fall of 2023, founded by Dan and his father-in-law, Mark. What started as a passion project for Dan—who balances life as a high school Spanish teacher, adjunct college professor, and dad of two—quickly became a local favorite at wineries and breweries across the Hudson Valley. Fueled by a shared love of fresh ingredients, community, and crowd-pleasing recipes, the duo brought years of kitchen creativity (and plenty of backyard party praise) to life with every bite.

By June 2024, the dream grew bigger. When the perfect building became available—one with deep roots as the former West Winds gas station and diner along NY-145—Dan, Mark, and Dan’s wife April saw an opportunity to give the space new life. As the only commercial spot between East Durham and Middleburgh, the building’s history offered the ideal backdrop for what they wanted to create: a welcoming, local-first restaurant with heart.

At Two Guys’ Local Bites, the food philosophy is simple: never cut corners, always choose quality, and let local shine. From Mark’s homemade chili to the glazed donut bacon cheeseburger, every dish is thoughtfully made with as many local ingredients as possible. Favorites like the Hudson Valley Cheesesteak (real grilled steak—not the freezer stuff) and the Hot Honey Bacon Chicken Sandwich (a customer obsession) keep guests coming back for more. Their burger was even named one of the best in the Capital Region by the Times Union in 2025.

The restaurant is now proudly run by April—Dan’s wife and Mark’s daughter—who left her full-time job in 2024 to manage the daily operations and ensure every guest is met with warmth and great service. With part-time team members Christi and Michael, and a rotating crew of seasonal staff, the atmosphere is as friendly as it is flavorful. Here, guests aren’t just customers—they're family.
